How To Fix Your Laptop When It Has An Overheating Issue

Salam and Hi readers!

As a blogger, I couldn't possibly work without my laptop. Unfortunately, I've been plagued by a variety of technical issues, including battery problems, a blackout screen, and even a complete system failure.

Laptop overheating is a common problem that I believe most people have likely experienced at some point. It is a serious case as it can affect the performance of your computer and damage your laptop's components. You will need to address the matter quickly to prevent further harm to your laptop.

So, let me share with you some of the methods that could help to solve this overheating issue!

How To Fix Your Laptop When It Has An Overheating Issue

     Use A Cooling Pad

Getting an external cooling pad can help to remove excess heat when you use your laptop. Some cooling pads are adjustable, providing an angle so you can type more comfortably.

     Clean Laptop Regularly

Dust may accumulate in the air vents over time. It can clog the air vent, and block the air flow. Cleaning your laptop regularly helps your laptop to run cooler.

     Monitor Laptop’s Temperature

Consider getting a temperature monitoring software to monitor your laptop’s temperature. The temperature monitoring software can alert you when your laptop is getting too hot, preventing the situation from getting worse.

Check That The Laptop Fans Are Working

Laptops do have internal fans to help to reduce the heat. But it may spoil over years. Do check if your laptop fans are working if your laptop is overheating too often.

     Replace Thermal Paste

Laptop components such as CPU & GPU have a thermal paste, which helps to dissipate heat more efficiently. Consider asking a PC repairman to reapply a new thermal paste if your laptop is getting overheated.

Use Original Or Certified Laptop Charger

Always use the original laptop charger to avoid any problems. If you need to get another charger, ensure it is certified. A third-party compatible charger may cause your laptop to overheat easily.

     Improve Airflow

Improve the airflow in the environment that you are using the laptop. Keep the room ventilated or elevate your laptop on a stand to avoid your laptop getting overheated.

Use Your Laptop In A Cool Environment

Sometimes, the temperature in the room is too warm causing your laptop to get overheated. Do turn on the aircon or fan to reduce the heat in the room to prevent your laptop from overheating.

     Close Unused Programs

Opening too many programs or opening too many tabs that are not in use will cause your CPU to overheat. Closing or deleting unused programs can help to keep the laptop’s temperature under control.

These are some common ways to fix laptop overheating issues. You may need to send your laptop to a reputable computer repair shop to be fixed.

Well, I don’t suggest you to attempt to DIY repair a Surface Pro overheating problem as the problem can be more complicated than you think, and solving it on your own may cause more problems.

There are many IT professionals in the market that are able to help you fix overheating laptop issues. You will need to find a reliable laptop servicing center to assist you.
