A folkloric world of fashion fantasy for H&M Studio A/W 16 Kid’s Collection

Similar to the women’s collection, the Studio Kid’s collection is inspired by folklore with a fairytale couture party twist. Influences come from sagas such as Alice in the Wonderland or the Swedish tales of John Bauer, with embellishments and prints essential to the look. Dresses are a playful fantasy, like a tiered rose printed dress, or a white folkloric dress long-sleeved with lace trim bib front and bands of lace trimming the full skirt. For the boys, leather jackets and pants have a rock star attitude, while a grey tailored coat or a matching pinstriped blazer, vest and roll-up pants make tailoring kid-friendly. Illustrations bring character, like the lynx pattern or the horse pattern on knitted sets while accessories like the whimsical party kits, hobby horse, embroidered rabbit masks and fox masks bring playful imagination to dress-up parties. 

H&M Studio A/W 2016 Mens Collection

The H&M Studio AW16 men’s collection exudes an elevated, intuitive style that takes an updated look at menswear classics. The bomber is elongated to create a new outerwear garment. The car-coat is reborn in recycled wool. Traditional fabrics such as corduroy are cut into utilitarian shapes. Knitwear becomes the essential layering piece of the season. Outfits are often monochrome, giving the sense of a new uniform for city life. 

Both collections are available from 8 September 2016 at H&M Avenue K.
